Dipali graduated from the University of Calcutta in 1972 and then obtained a degree from the Govt. College
of Art & Crafts, Calcutta in 1974. Between 1976 and 1995 she participated in many group shows in India and abroad. Dipali has shown solo at Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai and Gallerie Ganesha, New Delhi;La Gallery, Dhaka, Bangla Desh; Gallery Belvedere, Singapore.
The British Council sponsored a tour for her to London in 1986;Air India and Rotary Bangalore also sponsored a tour for her to London,New York and San Francisco in 1998. Dipali was guest artist at the Banga Sammelan, Atlanta, 2002.
Her works in oils, acrylics and tempera on canvas, water colours and drawings, mostly in a contemporarily figurative style, are in the collections of the Delhi College of Art, Birla Academy of Fine Arts, Guestkeen Willliams, Tatas, Godrej and in other private collections in India,Germany, London, USA and Bangla Desh.
Dipali Bhattacharya, was born, educated and now works in Kolkata.
