Mahesh Pottabathini (B.1976)

 
Born in a small village Manchal of Rangareddy district, Andhra Pradesh, Mahesh received Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Painting from the P.S. Telugu University and Sarojini Naidu University, Hyderabad and since 1999 has been participating in Art Camps organized by the prominent art galleries in Hyderabad, both at State and inter State levels. His works are exhibited in Group shows held in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai. The artist in him has always debated upon the superiority of man and machine or otherwise and this never ending argument he has examined and expressed in a series of paintings, but ultimately he advocates humans to take charge of life and maintain their identity.
Mahesh stood first in the inter university competition in Painting, conducted by the government in 1997. The Telugu University awarded him scholarships in 2000 and 2006 and for his Master’s degree he was given the Merit Scholarship in 2001. Presently, he is teaching drawing and painting in the department of sculpture, printmaking and painting at PST University, Hyderabad. His works are in collection with several private collectors.
