Sanjay Dnyaneshwar Kalbhor (b. 1972) received his General Diploma in Painting and his Diploma in Art Education from the Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya in Pune, his home city. His bold abstract paintings have a fiery quality to them, like flames erupting through a canvas, charring it as they move through to the edges. His creations emerge from the patterns he realizes when in deep meditative state; the positive and powerful energy he experiences in this state is what he aims to translate onto his canvas. He has participated in several group exhibitions across the country since 1994. |
