Sanjay Raut was born in Beed, Maharashtra. He completed his Fine Arts Diploma in 1999, from the Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya School in Pune. In 2000, he received his Diploma in Art Education. His works have been displayed around Mumbai, Pune, and Nasik. Though still young, Raut has already found himself many admirers, and has received several awards for his works.
Sanjay's mediums range from pencil, charcoal, acrylic, to oil. He belongs to the new breed of talented and upcoming artists, whose works revolve around the spirit of Indian culture. The innocence of children is brought out in his work, as seen through their serene, happy faces. A sense of simplicity and candour can be observed in his paintings. The artist tries to weave a narrative through the animated eyes of his muse.
He lives and works in Mumbai.
