Anand Panchal (B.1973)

Greatly influenced by his childhood memories of his early years in a village, Anand prefers to capture the virgin innocence and other delicate emotions he obseved in a face of a young girl. Besides the emotions emoted through the large eyes, the artist brings in other poetic subtleties and similes through the symbols, like half open flower held by the young girls or the bed of sunflowers against the group of enthusiastic girls dressed in bright dresses, or again, a group of young maidens facing the tall stemmed blue lotuses. The artist captures the purity and serenity in bright colors and the composition reminds us that of the miniature paintings. Anand has extended the theme to the mythical proto type like Durga, who is seen in a form of a young girl.
