Deeply interested in art since childhood, Debashish had brief training under Sukumar Mitra, one of the disciples of Nandal Bose and later graduated from Purnea college in Bihar. This state has rich tribal community and the artist’s works show ample evidence of its influence. His style is simplistic and maintains the pristine purity in portrayal of the subject matter.
The artist has participated in national and international art exhibitions.
